Hyderabad: Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology is a premier institute in Gandipet, Hyderabad. It boasts of a huge alumni network of over 30,000 people, many of whom occupy notable positions in reputed organizations in leading countries all over the world. Chaitanya Smruti is CBIT’s Alumni Association. It was established in 1983 after the first batch graduated. It’s presence in CBIT is maintained primarily through a team of over 150 students representing the association, led by the Student Executive Board. It conducts events like Carpediem, Tarang and Homecoming.
Homecoming, CBIT’s annual alumni meet, is conducted on campus like clockwork on December 25 every year. It has seen a footfall of over 1,500 alumni and is an excellent opportunity for ex-students to catch up with their peers. The tradition has grown to include the silver jubilee celebrations of certain batches too. It provides the perfect platform for all alumni who are in different walks of life and places to gather at their alma mater and allows them to reminisce old memories, create new ones and strengthen the bonds formed. It also gives current students to interact with their alumni to gain knowledge and form useful connections.
Notable talent is attracted to this event every year. Homecoming 2016 saw Indian Idol winner, Revanth, captivate the audience with his melodies. CBIT also has a vast home-grown talent in various fields, especially the performing arts. Homecoming 2018 seeks to promote this talent and promises a few enticing performances by these talented students. It will create the perfect ambience to rekindle friendships they formed years ago. Come bask in nostalgia on December 25 for a fun evening at CBIT.
