Kondapur: The residents of Pearl village at Masjid Banda in Kondapur have been spreading pollution by dumping garbage in GHMC Park. On alternate days, a few residents also burn the garbage resulting in air pollution. Though the act of the locals is harmful to public health, they have been dumping wastage in the park.
The authorities are maintaining silence over this issue even after several complaints.The other residents are a worried lot as it may lead to pollution in the entire area and may spread harmful diseases.
The garbage includes deleterious plastic and by burning it, there are chances of residents nearby getting affected by respiratory disorders due to increased levels of air pollution, said Srujana Ravi, a resident.
