5k Run to stress need for water conservation

Darulshifa: Chatrapati Shivaji Maratha Navyuvak Mandal and Chatrapati Shivaji Maratha Sanskritik Trust are jointly organising 5k Run on the theme of ‘Conserving Water’ at 6 am on February 17 at People’s Plaza at Necklace Roads.A meeting of Navyuvak Mandal and Sanskritik Trust was held at Shivaji Bridge (Salarjung bridge) in Darulshifa on Wednesday.
The 5k Run is being organised as part of the Jayanti of Shivaji Maharaj. Navayuvak Mandal president Madan Jadhav said that the chief guest for the 5k Run would be Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat. Arujna awardee S Geeta, weight lifter K Tulasi, wrestler Thakur Devi Singh, retired district judge N Malyadri would also take part in the 5K Run.
Jadhav said that about 1,000 participants had already registered their names for the Run and there would be more women participants this time. The last date for enrollment of names is February 10. Leaders of the Trust L K Shinde, Dileep Jagtap, Shankar Rao Patil, Namdev Rao Jadhav, Ram Sherikar, Ram Wadikar, Pavan Shinde, Monish Dharge and others were also present.
