LB Nagar: Rachakonda Commissioner of Police (CP) Mahesh Bhagwat said that one CCTV camera was equal to 100 police personnel. He was speaking at the inauguration programme of CCTV cameras at Chaitanyapuri and Sai Nagar Colony of LB Nagar division on Wednesday.Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said that the crime rate witnessed significant decline after installation of CCTV cameras.

The CCTV cameras helped police to solve many serious crime cases. He urged people to come forward to install CCTV cameras and cooperate with police in preventing crime incidents in their localities. Mahesh said that as many as 32 CCTV cameras along with a Command Control Room worth Rs 5 lakh was installed in Chaitanyapuri police station limits.

The Commissioner said that a total of 63,000 CCTV cameras would be installed in Rachakonda Commissionerate limits, of which 28,000 would be installed in LB Nagar and 5,000 in Chaitanayapur police station limits. Earlier, Mahesh along with the local corporator Vittal Reddy, LB Nagar DCP Sunpreeth Singh, ACP Prithvidhar Rao and others inaugurated the Command Control Room located at Sai Nagar Colony. Residents of the colony, police officials and others were present on the occasion.
