Sircilla: The representative of 'Reserve Bank of India', M Venkatesh on Friday advised the women and members of Self Help Groups (SHG) to have minimum education such as how to write, read and learn to develop financially.

He attended as the chief guest at the 'Financial Literacy Awareness Camp' organised by RBI in association with Andhra Bank for the women here in Lakshmipur village of Thungalapalli mandal of Rajanna Siricilla district.

Speaking on the occasion, M Venkatesh said that it would be beneficial to them, if they have special bank account on their name. The farmers who have bank accounts can get crop loans easily from the banks and can develop financially.

It is essential for everyone to have minimum financial knowledge to utilised several schemes that are introduced by both the State and Central governments along with having the bank accounts on their names.

Later, Venkatesh handed over the jute bags to members of SHG and women who attended the awareness camp with an aim to prevent the use of plastic bags.

The Lead Bank Officer Ranga Reddy, Andhra Bank Executive Officer Om Sai, Sudhakar and Rural Development Officer Gaurav, FLC Coordinator Venkata Ramana, Kanakaiah and village sarpanch Padma among others were present.
