Hyderabad: Even though the Election Code is in force in Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao began the exercise of reshuffling the State administration after the expansion of his cabinet with the permission of Election Commission. The appointment of new secretaries to the key departments is also under active consideration.B Janardhan Reddy, 1996 batch senior IAS official, who is waiting for post has been appointed as Secretary to Education department by relieving Special Chief Secretary Ajay Mishra from the Full Additional Charge (FAC) of the said post.

Three non-cadre State senior officials have been appointed as District Collectors. Special Grade Deputy Collector Nasrath Khanam Ayesha, presently working as Joint Collector and Additional District Magistrate (non-cadre) in Khammam was transferred and posted as Collector of Vikarabad district relieving Lokesh Kumar from the FAC. Nalgonda Joint Collector C Narayana Reddy was transferred and posted as Collector to the newly formed Mulugu district duly reliving V Venkateswarlu from the FAC of the said post.

Mahbubnagar Joint collector V Venkateswarlu has been appointed as Narayanpet Collector relieving D Ronald Rose from the additional charge. After the expansion of the cabinet, the Chief Minister concentrated on reshuffling the State administration including the transfer of District Collectors. The reshuffle of the officials at the level of special Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries appointed in the key departments is also under consideration.

K Chandrashekar Rao wanted to appoint an efficient official to each department ensuring the execution and implementation of development and welfare programme in letter and spirit. As the Chief Minister is busy preparing strategy for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, sources said that he will complete the exercise of the rejig of the State administration at the earliest. The transfers of IPS officials is also under consideration.
