Nakrekal (Nalgonda): Congress Party’s Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah is going to shift his loyalties to Telangana Rashtra Samithi within a couple of days. According to sources in the TRS, Lingaiah is going to join TRS in the presence of party president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Sunday.
Lingaiah won the SC-reserved Nakrekal Assembly constituency recently on a Congress ticket. Ever since his victory, rumours were rife that he would join the TRS nest at the earliest.
However, his followers have been condemned his joining TRS from time to time and further they opined that Lingaiah would abide by the decision of his mentors, the Komatireddy brothers.
Meanwhile, Munugodu MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy fired salvos on Lingaiah for his decision to join TRS and termed it cheating the party and the people of the Nakrekal constituency who accepted them as he was member of Congress.
Stating that both he and his brother and Former Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy treated him as their family member and took care during his testing times, Rajgopal Reddy urged Lingaiah to withdraw his decision immediately and continue in Congress party for better future. Meanwhile, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was tightlipped over Lingaiah’s decision.
So far under Operation Akarsh, two Congress MLAs and a TDP MLA from Khammam openly announced their decision to join TRS, whereas Lingaiah is yet to make announcement.
Local TRS sources confirmed that all formalities to join Lingaiah in TRS were completed during a confidential meeting of the MLA with TRS boss in Hyderabad recently and only official joining was left.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Chirumarthi Lingaiah, his security guards and his personal assistant were not reachable on phone when few Congress leaders tried to reach them.
It is learnt that the CM had invited Lingaiah to join the party in view of securing the 5th MLC seat under MLA quota and to win Bhongir MP seat in forthcoming Parliament elections.
