This year began with clash of titans as Chiranjeevi’s ‘Khaidi No 150’ and Balakrishna’s ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ clashed at the box-office. Lakhs of fans of arch rivals were charged up and both the films turned out to be blockbusters.

Now similar kind of clash is set to be witnessed in mid-2018, with both the stars getting ready to begin work for their respective and much-hyped films ‘NTR biopic’ and ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ respectively. “Balakrishna reprising the role of his legendary father in the latter’s biopic has raised lot of expectations around the mega buck movie. Similarly, Chiranjeevi is reprising the role of a renowned freedom fighter in his next and both the films have given a good reason for fans of respective stars to cheer up in 2018,” says a source.

Contrary to the earlier reports that NTR biopic will hit screens in May and ‘Sye Raa…’ expected to release in August, but now director Teja ( who is helming NTR biopic)is reportedly thinking of setting a clash between two big films, as he believes that the story of iconic actor-turned-politician has an edge over a freedom fighter among new-generation viewers. “NTR’s life is a phenomenal and inspiring too and the story has come out really well which showcases many exciting and unknown facets of the yesteryear superstar who later conquered political arena with his charisma and people-friendly schemes,’ which is more fascinating than an onscreen clash between a freedom fighter and British empire,” the source adds.

Even though, producers Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Induri are reluctant as they prefer to allow two big films to be released with reasonable gap and avoid a clash at the ticket window. But the director who tasted blood as he emerged a winner with ‘Nene Raju Nene Mantri’ by trouncing two other films ‘Lie’ and ‘Jaya Janaki Nayaka’, last August is looking for another big clash of giants. “No doubt, such a clash is wise and sensible too,” says distributor Ramakrishna and adds “Fans of both the stars will be geared up and will try to ensure the success of their respective stars which would help in drawing sensational openings as it happened during ‘Khaidi No 150’ and ‘Gautamiputra Satakarni’ as both the movies re-wrote box office records,” he adds. May be, legion of fans would love such a bout, but producers and distributors would prefer to go it alone, rather than running into each other.
