Rs 1.75cr for modernisation of Anandagajapati Raju Auditorium vudaVizianagaram: Severe action will be taken against illegal layouts under the limits of Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA), vice-chairman N Yuvaraj warned. An 11-member committee has been appointed under his charge to identify and eliminate illegal layouts, he said. The committee would inspect all the layouts under VUDA jurisdiction north Andhra and any layout that was not in accordance with the norms would be notified immediately, he said. For such layouts, the stipulated fine, along with the registration fee, would have to be submitted within a week of receiving the notifications, the VUDA vice-chairman informed. The VUDA vice-chairman toured Vizianagaram district on Wednesday. He visited the Anandagajapati Raju Auditorium where modernisation work would be taken up. After inspecting the facilities, he discussed their improvement with the officials. Later, addressing the media, Mr Yuvaraj said that illegal layouts in Visakhapatnam were already under VUDA scanner. Even though buildings have been constructed against the prescribed plan and already sold, the realtors would be notified and they would be made to pay the fines and registration fees without burdening the owners, he said. The Anandagajapati Raju Auditorium would be modernised with Rs 1.75 crore, he said. The modernisation works, which could not be taken up due to Nandinatakotsav, would begin soon, he added. Also, on the suggestion of the District Collector, the VUDA zonal office would also come up on the auditorium premises, he said. Two ring roads stretching up to 100 feet were being developed in Vizianagaram and this would be completed by the month-end, he added. A special centre for distribution of implements for the physically challenged would be set up at a cost of Rs 26 lakh on the premises of the district Maharaja Hospital, he said. Plans were being made to implement VUDA development works in a phased manner, Mr Yuvaraj said.
