Vizianagaram: The Samaikyandhra agitation in the district is spreading. With more and more students, political leaders and employees joining the movement, the agitation has spread its wings in the entire district reaching out to remote corners on the ninth day on Thursday. The agitation has been intensified in the district headquarters with students taking active part in it.

Political parties are playing a major role in intensifying the movement. At the APSRTC junction in the city, Vanta-Vaarpu programme was organized and the district YSR Congress Party activists organized a bandh. A bus bandh was organized under the aegis of the APSRTC Employees Union. Some of the eunuchs in the city conducted a mock funeral for Telangana Rashtra Samithi President K Chandrasekhara Rao.

The municipal staff burnt the effigy of the TRS president and organized an aata-paata programme. Bandh was organized for the second consecutive day in Parvathipuram, Bobbili and also in Cheepurupalli village. The autorickshaw unions took out a rally and conducted a mock funeral for K Chandrasekhara Rao. In Gajapathinagar, students formed a human chain.

The Samaikyandhra activists demanded the resignation of PCC President Botcha Satyanarayana and other MLAs and MPs of the district and join the movement.
