Summer book expo begins

20 pc discount on children's booksA� Visakhapatnam: A book exhibition, organised under the aegis of Himamsu Book Depot on the occasion of World Book Day on Tuesday, was inaugurated by Rev Fr K Joji Babu at the local St Anthony's School near Green Park. A large number of English and Telugu books were on display. On this occasion, Fr Joji Babu said book exhibitions would help children and youth to improve their educational standards, especially in summer holidays. Andhra University former Rector Prof. A Prasanna Kumar dwelt upon important things like how great writings would influence the youth and children. He asked the children to cultivate the habit of book reading to develop knowledge and good behaviour. Exhibition organiser and Visakha Book Festival Society president Himamsu Prasad said the exhibition would be open daily between 11 am and 8 pm till the end of May. He announced a discount of 20 per cent on children's books and a discount of up to 15 per cent on other books. Children who attended the event were given Swami Vivekananda books. School headmaster Karanam Prakash was present.
