RINL, AU sign­ agreement

Visakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Andhra University for various purposes like conducting surveys, study of environmental aspects and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities for a period of three years from Monday. Addressing the gathering, RINL Director (Personnel) YR Reddy said both RINL and Andhra University would explore mutual areas of cooperation and utilising strengths and collaborating for establishing higher learning institutes. Andhra University Vice-Chancellor Prof. GSN Raju said that the motto of Andhra University was spreading education and character building of a nation and would work relentlessly. "RINL and Andhra University are committed to the advancement and enhancement of joint initiatives to further industry-academia interface. RINL and AU wishes to join together in pursuit of this goal. This linkage is in line with the urge for greater interaction between industry and the institute and would become a successful model for many such initiatives across the globe," Mr YR Reddy said. The event was held at a function here on Monday at the Senate Hall, Andhra University. The MoU was signed by Andhra University Registrar Prof. K Rama Mohan Rao and RINL/VSP General Manager (Training and HRD) A Radhakrishna in the presence of Prof. GSN Raju and Mr YR Reddy.
