Hanamkonda: In a bid to ensure effective monitoring of the State governments’ flagship programmes, the District Collector, Prashanth Jeevan Patil, appointed special officers on Monday. The special officers were appointed at constituency level and mandal level.

Narsampet revenue divisional officer M Rama Krishna Reddy, Warangal Rural divisional revenue officer Y Surender Rao and the district rural development officer Y Shekar Reddy were asked to look after Narsampet, Parkal and Wardhannapet assembly constituencies respectively.

District level officer were appointed as special officers for 15 mandals of Warangal Rural district, spread in five assembly segments in different neighbouring districts. The collector announced the appointment of special officer during grievance cell meeting here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Patil told the officers to tour their designated mandals and constituencies. Focus should be laid on resolving problems at ground level in implementing the welfare and developmental programmes in coordination with the local officials and staff.

The Collector wanted the officials to take the petitions submitted at Prajavani programme seriously and make sincere efforts to address them. Every petition should be resolved in a time-bound manner and laxity in that connection would not be acceptable.

The district officials should closely monitor the process to curtail any possible negligence by lower level officials. Steps taken to resolve the petitions have to be registered online and the concerned officials should produce the online report during the subsequent grievance cell meeting, Jeevan Patil suggested.

Later on the day, the Collector has visited the district public relations office newly set up at the district Collectorate. He enquired about the facilities available at the office. Additional Public Relations Officer M Kiranmayee informed the Collector that the office began its functioning on Monday. Publicity assistant Vishnumohan Rao, typist Sridhar and others were present.
