Bhupalapally: The Telangana government has been making dedicated efforts to complete pending irrigation projects launched by the previous governments, stated Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao.

He said all the pending projects in the State would soon be turned into running projects. The State government has allotted Rs 25,000 crore for the purpose. The government was committed to ensure irrigation to every acre of land, he said.

He commissioned a medium irrigation project across Palamvagu (Jellavagu), a minor tributary of river Godavari at Mallapuram village of Venkatapuram mandal in Jayashankar Bhupalapally district on Monday.

Harish said Palamvagu project was first proposed in 2005 during the Congress regime as part of Jalayagnam project but washed away twice.

Its completion was pending for long. The project was expected to irrigate nearly 10,132 acres in Venkatapuram and Wajeedu mandals.
