Candidates holding ITI fitter and electrician trade certificates have appealed the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, to extend the age limit set for fitter and electrician jobs in SCCL for which a notification was released.

Warangal: Candidates holding ITI fitter and electrician trade certificates have appealed the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, to extend the age limit set for fitter and electrician jobs in SCCL for which a notification was released.

It might be noted that a recent job notification bearing No: 05/2017 released by Singareni Collieries Company Limited or (SCCL) calling applications for fitter and electrician jobs fixed the upper age limit at 35 years.

The aspiring candidates appealed the CM to initiate measures to extend the upper age limit from 35 years to 40 years. Large number of eligible candidates would forfeit the job opportunity on account of the age limit fixed in the notification, complained a candidate A Ravi Kumar of Godavarikhani and D Venkata Ramana of Warangal.

There were as many as 3,000 candidates, aged above 35 years in the erstwhile Khammam, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Warangal districts. Since no job notification was released for a long period by the SCCL, the CM must ensure that all such candidates were allowed to apply for the jobs, said E Satyanarayana and G Ravi Kumar.

A group of candidates have recently met BJP floor leader in the state assembly G Kishan Reddy, CLP deputy leader T Jeevan Reddy and MLA Sunnam Rajaiah and submitted memorandums urging them to raise the issue in the ongoing assembly session.

Kishan Reddy responding to their request has written a letter to the CM and the SCCL CMD N Sridhar. The candidates have made representations to the Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari, MPs K Kavitha and Balka Suman, MLA Sri D Vinay Bhasker and the CMD Sridhar.
