Wardhannapet (Warangal Rural): In a rather surprising incident, a married woman was allegedly thrown out of home by her husband and in-laws, for lacking cooking skills. The incident took place at Ellanda village of Wardhannapet mandal in the district. The victim, called Kurapati Manasa (25), staged a silent protest in front of her in-laws’ house at the village on Thursday demanding justice.

The woman told presspersons that she was driven out of her husband’s house two months after her marriage with a private employee Kurapati Rajendra Prasad of Ellanda on November 25 last year. Since then she was living at her maternal home at Dargah area in Kazipet.

Manasa alleged that soon after the marriage her husband and in-laws used to rebuke her for her poor cooking and lack of knowledge to cook biryani and wanted her to divorce Rajendra Prasad. In addition to that Rajendra Prasad and his parents were also accused of subjecting the woman to torture for additional dowry.

The woman informed that she had complained to Subedari women police station, Wardhannapet police station in the past. The police counselled Rajendra Prasad to get along by finding solutions to their problems. ‘But the trouble continued, and I am not allowed to stay with my husband. That is why I chose to stage the protest,’ Manasa said. Meanwhile, Wardhannpet police inspector Adinarayana summoned the couple to the police station and counselled them asking not to create issues out of trivial matters.
