Hailing the vision of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister K T Rama Rao’s determination to take Sircilla right on top of the State, he said the works of Sircilla-Vemulawada-Choppadandi (SVC) segment of the Mission Bhagiratha are in last leg of completion.

He said of the total 292, restoration of 195 tanks under Mission Kakatiya is completed and the other works are in various stages. He said the government accorded sanctions for the construction of four mini tank bunds in Sircilla constituency.

“Sircilla district is one of the major beneficiary under government’s TS-iPASS policy. So far, 118 industries with an estimated investment of Rs 1,049 crore have been proposed in the district. Of which, 88 industries started production with an investment of Rs 737 crore,” the Collector said.

An Apparel Park on 64 acres near Peddur under Sircilla mandal is coming up while proposals are underway to set up a food processing unit in 50 acres at Narmala village under Gambirraopet, he said and stated that these industries are likely to generate thousands of jobs.

The district administration is promoting Haritha Haram in a big way, Krishna Bhaskar said, referring to the action plan initiated for the protection of saplings. The Bharat Dynamics Limited had come forward to provide 50,000 tree guards worth around Rs 70 lakh, in addition to 35,000 tree guards that were already installed.

Both health and education are high on agenda, he said, referring to the developmental activity taken up in the district. He said measures are being taken for the beautification of district headquarters and expansion of roads.

Krishna Bhaskar said with the efforts of Chief Minister, the upcoming Kothapalli-Manoharabad railway line is likely to pass through Vemulawada and Sircilla towns.
The works of International Driving Training and Research Institute (IDTRI), first-of-its-kind and second in the country, at Mandepally under Tangallapalli mandal are progressing at a rapid pace, the Collector said.

The famous Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple, known as Dakshin Kasi, will soon see a colossal development, he said, referring to Rs 400 crore accorded for the purpose by the government.

He claimed that Sircilla district is in number one position in land purification exercise. The government had already initiated an action plan to rescue the weaving community besides implementing several welfare programmes for the handloom workers, he said.
