Warangal: In setting up Startups, one should lay focus on promoting human values and humanitarian management practices but not on money making, suggested author, educationist and speaker Raghunandan Vadla.
He addressed students at the valedictory of the two-day Startup Utsav conducted by computer science and engineering (CSE) department and Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Kakatiya Institute of Technology & Science, Warangal (KITS-W) here on Friday.
The governments at the Centre and at State-level should try to introduce an education system that promotes leadership qualities among the students. In Indian Freedom struggle and Telangana movement, it was the common citizens and students, who played a key role, he noted.
The students have a greater role to play in making the world a better place and have an impact on it in a positive way. ‘Life is a laboratory and one should constantly experiment to evolve following their inspirations,’ Raghunandan added.
The cofounder and CTO of Invento Robotics Bharath said the country would not be built by weak hearts. Students should cultivate sheep mentality bust try to innovative and creative in exploring their potential and implementing their ideas in practice.
‘One should expand their thinking and become self-inspired. Entrepreneurship involves team work, collaboration and administrative skills. The student community should quit phobias and strive to create new India,’ he noted.
An idea presented by Pinna Sridatta and his team members G Vaishnavi and M Varshini on making of cost effective and environment-friendly jute bags to replace plastic bags was adjudged as the ‘Best Startup Idea’. Several students, who presented prospective Startup ideas, were presented certificates of excellence.
The College Director Y Manohar, HoD CSE department Prof P Niranjan Reddy, faculty coordinators V Shankar and NC Santhosh Kumar, student coordinators N Barghava Patel and B Sai Maneesh Reddy, organising committee members J Mounisha, T Sushanth, K Harish, M Navya, K Sravan, faculty, staff and PRO D Prabhakara Chary were present.
