Adilabad: Afforestation is the only solution to avoid human-animal conflict, Forest and BC Welfare Minister Jogu Ramanna said, stressing the need for improving the forest cover by taking up the plantation drive on a huge note.

Reviewing the progress of Mission Bhagiratha, sheep units etc., at the Collectorate here on Wednesday, the Minister told the officials to raise saplings required for the forthcoming Haritha Haram. He directed the officials to take up preparation of seed balls also.

“Improving forest cover, especially planting fruit bearing saplings, is the only solution to avoid the human-animal conflict,” the Minister said, referring to the invasion of wild animals into crop lands.

District Collector D Divya instructed the officials to take up geo-tagging of saplings planted in the previous season. Referring to the Mission Bhagiratha works, she advised the officials to engage more labourers to complete the flagship programme of the government.
