The government has decided to redesign the check dam coming up at Sankepally as a bridge-cum-check dam. In a meeting held at Hyderabad on Wednesday, the Vemulawada Temple Development Authority (VTDA) was told to change the check dam plan. 

Vemulawada: The government has decided to redesign the check dam coming up at Sankepally as a bridge-cum-check dam. In a meeting held at Hyderabad on Wednesday, the Vemulawada Temple Development Authority (VTDA) was told to change the check dam plan.

The meeting headed by VTDA vice-chairman M Purushotham Reddy and Vemulawada MLA Chennamaneni Ramesh Babu has discussed about the plan following directions from Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

The redesigned plan will ensure water in the Mula Vagu (stream) round the year, according to the Sri raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple public relations officer Upadhyayula Chandrasekhar.

VTDA secretary Bhujanga Rao, Irrigation officials Shyam Sundar, Ajay, Pavan, temple EE Rajaiah, Stapathi Valli Nayagam, architects Mukteeshwar and Nagaraju were among others at the meeting.
