Karimnagar: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday sanctioned Rs 500 crore for the development of Karimnagar district. The Chief Minister was responding to a request by Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, who wanted Rs 500 crore to fill up any gaps till the next one year.
The Chief Minister said that Eatala Rajender is the Finance Minister and knows about money management. “He is close to me and there is no question of denying him so hence, I am sanctioning Rs 500 crore even if I had to take loan,” said the Chief Minister.
K Chandrashekar Rao said that he had sentiments towards Karimnagar district as every programme taken up in the district was a success. The first Simha Garjana of Telangana agitation was also held here, he recalled. The foundation for Telangana was laid in this district, he added.
The Chief Minister said that no one thought that Telangana would be a reality one day. "Many had doubts that Telangana would be forced into darkness and there will not be any talent in the State. Son of Karimnagar from Metpally Anudeep Durishetty stood number one in the civil services exam," the Chief Minister added. Today, the State is number one in many aspects and 24-hour power was being supplied in the State, he said.
Earlier, Rajender requested the Chief Minister to release funds for filling the gaps whatever are there by this year end. He said that there is a Sitarama temple and Bijli Sharif Dargah that needs to be developed.
Rajender said that entire country was looking towards Telangana because of the inspirational programmes of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government. He said that the Rythu Bandhu scheme would bring light in the lives of farmers.
“The Union Finance Minister's comments that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was running the government victoriously was a testimony to the functioning of the government,” Rajender said.
