TGPC’s Miss India is the first ever online beauty pageant in the world which provides a platform to young girls to showcase their talents and improve themselves. Hansika Rao, 19 years, is one of the 22 finalists selected among 700+ entries of TGPC’s Miss India Season 5.

Hansika Rao studied in DPS and CHIREC Hyderabad for 12 years. She is currently pursuing her degree in Mathematics and Comp Sciences in UW- Madison, USA. Hansika is a girl filled with enthusiasm and loves dancing, writing, fashion designing, volunteering for social causes.

On asking why she is in the quest to win the title crown of TGPC MISS INDIA season 5 she said, “I have always been inspired by the women of the pageant and also been interested in being a part of it. Upon looking for pageants in YouTube and Google, I found TGPC MISS INDIA very impressive and suitable for me. Since currently am studying in USA, it could be inconvenient to travel back to India for participating in pageants. However, I was highly thrilled by the idea of an online pageant, as it would be an extremely suitable option for me.”

There are several rounds in the pageant. After each round, the contestants will be given feedback on their performance. Accordingly, their scores would be decided by the panel of judges. TGPC stands for The Great Pageant Community. One of the rounds is the community service round. Hansika has decided to teach contemporary dance to homeless girls in Bala Yesu Bhavan Hulimavu, Bangalore. She feels, dance has been an essential process to enlightenment in all civilisations, time immemorial. She has also been a special potential student of Shiamak Davar dance academy Hyderabad.
