Bengaluru: Four students, including those of classes 4 and 8 from Bengaluru donated their pocket money to repair a local government school. Students Nidhi Shankar Reddy, Dhruva Reddy, Neha Reddy and Deekhshitha Reddy saved around Rs 1.5 lakh and spent it on development works of the primary school near Kalyan Nagar.

Deeksha is a class IV student, Neha is in SSC, Dhruva studies in VIII standard, while Nidhi is doing a pre-university course. The school now has a good toilet facility after it got repaired. The benches and walls of the classrooms have also been painted.

One of the students said as they are studying in a well-facilitated school, they were shocked by poor students studying at the school without basic facilities, “so we decided to extend help by donating our pocket money”.
