Students of TSWR School, Kallur, Khammam dist, M Maneesha, U Divya and M Shirisha  secured Gold medals in under 16 (45kg), under 14 (45 kg) and under 14 (40kg) categories respectively in the 23rd Asian International Karate Championship(AIKC) 2018, held at Mumbai recently. 

Hyderabad: Students of TSWR School, Kallur, Khammam dist, M Maneesha, U Divya and M Shirisha secured Gold medals in under 16 (45kg), under 14 (45 kg) and under 14 (40kg) categories respectively in the 23rd Asian International Karate Championship(AIKC) 2018, held at Mumbai recently.

K Krishnaveni secured silver medal under 14 years category and another student also bagged bronze medal. The students came out with flying colors. Participants from 10 countries took part in the competition. The TSWREIS Secretary Dr RS Praveen Kumar congratulated the winners and said it is a matter of pride that girls excelled in karate championship at international level.

“About 500 girls are trained in martial arts for self defense. These girls in turn train their peers in their respective schools. A major leap towards empowerment of girls”, he remarked. The Secretary thanked the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and the minister for Scheduled Castes development for their support to empowerment of marginalised girls under the KG-PG mission.
