The 12 Taekwondo martial artists who had created Guinness record by hitting 35,774 kicks in an hour met the Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy, chairman of Sports Authority of Telangana State, in his chamber at L.B.Stadium on Saturday.

Hyderabad: The 12 Taekwondo martial artists who had created Guinness record by hitting 35,774 kicks in an hour met the Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy, chairman of Sports Authority of Telangana State, in his chamber at L.B.Stadium on Saturday.

The 12 martial artists to achieve the honour are A. Maruthi, A. Tanmaya, Ch. Saketh, V. HariKrishna, V. Nithin, Adwikamishra, B. Anish, K. Ramcharan, VN. Aparna, V.N. Aditya, E. Chaitanya and L. Hamshitha Reddy.

The SATS Chairman congratulated them and conveyed his warm wishes to all the record achievers before giving away the medals and certificates. All the players together with their parents thanked SATS Chairman, a press release said.

In all 31 Taekwondo players participated in the 'Knee Straight Chest Level Kicks' competition held at Kaveri Gardens, Hayathnagar, Hyderabad on April 21 but only 12 made it to the Guinness Record. The competition was organised by Abhyasa Taekwondo.

Grand Master Nagur Babu, Telangana State Taekwondo's president Subhash, secretary Mallikarjun Murthy andvice president Vinod were also present.
