At WWDC 2019, Cook introduced the ultimate professional monitor to complement the high-end desktop.

The Pro Display XDR monitor starts at $4,999, while the stand is sold separately for $999.

While content creators who rely on Apple's desktops praised Tim Cook who removed the cover of the new Mac Pro, the applause did not stop there. Following his announcement of Mac Pro at WWDC 2019, Cook introduced the ultimate professional monitor to complement the high-end desktop.

The new Pro Display XDR (extreme dynamic range) from Apple offers a price that makes a big hole in your pocket is an absolute beast on the spec sheet, even in the world of professional screens. The new 32-inch LCD monitor from Apple has a resolution setting of 6.016 x 3.384; that's 20 million pixels.

This 6K HDR screen is 40% larger than Apple's iMac 5K screen. It offers P3 wide colour and a contrast ratio of one million to one. The screen can also maintain 1,000 nits of full-screen brightness and 1,600 nits of maximum brightness. The Apple Pro screen also features ultra-thin bezels, which give it an ultra-premium look.

Maintaining 1,000 nits of brightness requires a lot of power and cooling, so Apple has adopted "cheese grater" ventilation on the back of the monitor. In addition, there is a relatively quiet fan on the back of the monitor.

The standard Pro display XDR with the glossy finish will be available at Rs 3,45,000 whereas the nano-texture glass version will set you back Rs 4,15,000. The stand for Apple's 6K display, "Pro Stand" will set you back $999, while the VESA Mount Adapter will cost around at $1999- neither of which are included in the 'monitor's price.

Charging extra to the consumers for the stand does seem over a bit over the top.
