15 NREGS workers injured as tractor overturns
Even before people could erase the memory of the ghastly accident that took place in Kodad on Sunday, as many as 15 NREGS workers suffered injuries in a road accident that took place on Wednesday at Patarlapadu village of Athmakur (S) mandal in the district.
Athmakur (S) (Suryapet): Even before people could erase the memory of the ghastly accident that took place in Kodad on Sunday, as many as 15 NREGS workers suffered injuries in a road accident that took place on Wednesday at Patarlapadu village of Athmakur (S) mandal in the district.
The incident took place when the tractor in which they were travelling turned turtle.
According to sources, the NREGS workers were heading to their work place at 7 am. Workers who were in hurry to reach their work place got into the tractor going in that direction. Soon, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle after travelled a few meters.
In this incident, 15 workers Veraboina Lingamma, Gundal Lingamma, Karrebotula Lingamma, Palsa Vinoda, Bolka Yellaiah, Battini Suramma, Bolka Nagamma, Jampala Satyamma, Battini Saramma, Deshaboina Chowdamma, Gundala Bikshamamma, Neelamma and three others suffered injuries.
All the injured were shifted to government area hospital in Suryapet. District Rural Development Agency project director Kiran Kumar visited the hospital and enquired about the health condition of workers undergoing treatment at the hospital.
