Hyderabad: Osmania University on Friday announced the results of Telangana State- State Eligibility Test-2019 (TS-SET-2019) in which 2,438 candidates have been qualified.

Addressing media here on Friday, University Registrar Dr Ch Gopal Reddy and TS-SET-2019 Member-Secretary Prof B Yadava Raju said a total of 44,649 candidates had registered for the examination and 32,284 appeared for the exam.

The examination in 29 subjects was held in 1,937 slots as it was conducted for the first time in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. A total of 2,438 candidates passed the exam and the pass percentage stood at 7.55, he said.

Registrar of the university said the University Grants Commission (UGC) has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Telangana Sate-State Eligibility Test (TS-SET) for Assistant Professor and Lectureship to the Osmania University in December 2016.

So far, the university had conducted thrice the TS-SET examination after the formation of Telangana, besides thrice in the United AP and during the State re-organisation, it had conducted the TS-AP SET.

However, it was for the first time that the TS-SET-2019 examination was conducted in CBT mode on July 5 and 6 in the erstwhile ten districts of the State.

Besides, a few more new centres were also added this time. Further, there were problems faced during the conduct of the examination, the registrar said.

Candidates can obtain their marks and results by visiting the websites www.telanganaset.org and www.osmania.ac.in, Prof B Yadava Raju said.

Prof Raju said the certificate verification programme for all the qualified candidates will be conducted in the first week of September and details of the same will be posted on the website shortly afterwards.
