The polling percentage stood at 75 per cent, officials informed.
District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini informed that polling was conducted peacefully and was over by 4 pm. The shifting of ballet boxes started after 5 pm amid tight police security.
Meanwhile, a large number of voters exercised their franchise in the sensitive mandals of Karakagudem, Pinapaka, Chandrugonda and Manuguru.
Collector inspects NREGS works
District Collector Rajat Kumar Saini has inspected the NREGS works at Jagannadhapuram under Palvoncha mandal limits on Friday. He also inspected the nurseries at Jagannadhapuram and Bikkutanda villages and interacted with the villagers.
The Collector enquired about facilities and told the officials to not to neglect clearing bills and releasing salaries to workers.
Every household should build individual toilets as part of Swacch Bharat scheme, he said. District Rural Development Agency Project Director P Jagath Kumar Reddy and other officials accompanied the Collector.
