G Venkat, Kranthi Kiran and Balraju were among the arrested who shared fake messages on women kidnap on social media. The news spread like a wildfire and created panic among the public. The police alerted on it and registered a suo-moto case and arrested the culprits.

The post said, "The number of missing complaints in Hyderabad has been increasing day by day nearly 82 people went missing in Telangana within 24 hours on Saturday."

Speaking to media, joint commissioner Avinash Mahanti said that the arrested shared the news on Facebook and YouTube.
