5 youth sentenced to one year RI for assaulting constable in Hyderabad

Five youngsters were sentenced to one-year Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for assaulting a constable during Ganesh immersion in 2017. Around Rs 1500 fine was also imposed on each of them.

The convicted persons were K Sukkaiah, Y Chintu, M Yadaiah, J Raju and A Mahesh, all the residents of Medipally.
The constable G Ravindar of Yacharam police station was deployed at Medipally on bandobast duty in September 2017. While Ravindar was on duty, he is reported to have been assaulted by the youngsters.
Based on the complaint lodged by the constable, the Yacharam police registered a case and arrested them.
