Nizamabad: The members of Nizamabad Bar Association on Friday boycotted the court and staged a protest in front of the District Courts Building Complex here, demanding repeal of Section 41 of Criminal Procedure Code.
The Bar Association general secretary Paruchuri Sridhar said that Section 41 of CPC is not useful to lawyers and public and judicial powers were handed over to the police. It is not advisable to give the power of granting bail for cases that are punishable for not less than seven years to the police, he stated.
Advocates S Rajkumar, Jagan Mohan Goud, Vasanth, Vignesh, A Narayana, Srihari, Achari, Raju, J Venkatesh, Madhusudhan, Naresh, Bhiksapathi, Srinivas, K Ramakrishna and others have boycotted the court.
