Army jawan M Parashuram who died in the landslide in Leh two days ago was cremated in his native village in Mahabubnagar on Sunday.
Army jawan M Parashuram who died in the landslide in Leh two days ago was cremated in his native village in Mahabubnagar on Sunday. The funeral was held in the presence of large number of people at Guvvanikunta tanda of Gandeed mandal with military honours.
Local public representatives and officials participated in the last rites.
The jawan's mortal remains were received by Chevella MP Dr. Ranjith Reddy, minister Srinivas Goud and Parigi MLA Mahesh Reddy at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) on Saturday night. The body was shifted to his native village in the ambulance by road in the early hours on Sunday.
Minister Srinivas Goud announced Rs 25 lakh financial assistance and a double bedroom house for the jawan's family. Also, he assured all support from the government to the family.
Parashuram joined the Army in 2005 and had been serving in Leh.
