Hyderabad: Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy said it is not a good tradition to attack people when they were asking for an answer on people's issues in a democratic manner.

The Minister visited the houses of two BJP party workers who were allegedly attacked by the TRS leaders and partymen recently here in Malkajgiri.

Stressing on stringent action against those behind the attacks, he said that he would ask for details on the incident from the Home Secretary, Director General of Police and the Chief Secretary.

Kishan Reddy earlier garlanded the statue of former Chief Minister T Anjaiah at Addagutta and participated in the BJP membership drive along with party city president Ramachander Rao.

Speaking during the membership drive, the Minister asked Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao not to play with the issues related to the health of people and asked him to implement the Ayushman Bharat, a Centre Sponsored Scheme providing Rs 5 lakh health coverage annually for the poor.

"Several States in the country are utilising the scheme for the benefit of the people in their respective States. However, the poor in Telangana are deprived of the same due to the TRS chief," he added.

He said that the Centre is working hard to create basic amenities for the people and took a dig at the State government for failing in implementing the two-bedroom scheme.

Terming the Centre is committed to the protection of women, Kishan Reddy said, "we will bring stringent legislation for the protection of women and their safety."
