Hyderabad: A bank employee allegedly attempted suicide by jumping off into Musi river at Moosarambagh under Amberpet police station limits over depression for not qualifying for UPSC mains this year.

According to police, a 27-year-old woman working as a bank employee appeared for UPSC prelims this year and was not able to clear the list for Mains exam.

While so, she went into depression and on Friday while returning to her home in Vanasthalipuram she stopped the cab, which she hired to reach home, at Musi river near Moosarambagh and jumped into the river.

The locals observing her saved her life and she was rushed to the nearby hospital. On receipt of the information, the police rushed to the spot and counselled her. Later, she was handed over to her father.
