Adilabad: Not wasting even a minute after the first phase of territorial elections are concluded on May 6, aspirants of Mandal Parishad President (MPP) post started camp politics.

In Adilabad constituency, first phase elections were held for 51 MPTC posts in six mandals and all the candidates are confident of prospects. There are not more than 10 MPTC candidates in each mandal.

The candidates of the ruling TRS and Congress are preparing to move these candidates to political camps in two or three days and allegedly negotiating the costs. Liquor, gifts, cash along with food will be supplied.

After the TRS' stunning victory in the recent elections, several leaders of various parties are

joining the ruling party, thus increasing the competition for the MPP post. Meanwhile, Congress leaders are reportedly trying to buy MPTC candidates to get majority and dealing the situation strategically.

MLAs and MLCs of the district are conducting meetings with MPTC candidates to get majority to grab MPP posts. The party high command has warned not to object over seat sharing.

On other hand, Congress leaders are waiting for those, who are disappointed with the TRS and try to woo them into their fold.

The results of first phase of territorial elections will be announced on May 27.
