Mancherial: Strict actions will be taken against those sell and use plastic items after imposition of complete ban on plastic use in the district from November, stated Municipal Commissioner G Swarupa Rani addressing a meeting with plastic shop owners in Mancherial on Friday.

Swarupa Rani told plastic shop owners not to sell plastic related items or else heavy fines will be imposed on those who sell plastic items. To control usage of banned plastic, a complaint section is created to receive complaints and also on whats app number 9849743215, she said. The ban will be followed strictly from November , they will also impose fine on function halls, first time Rs 5000, second time Rs 10,000 and third time their license will be cancelled, she said.

And user charges will be collected from functions halls for shifting garbage to the dumping yard. She urged the citizens to not to use plastic and cooperate with municipal officers. Municipal Commissioner G Swarupa Rani, sanitary inspector Srinivas, health assistant Sunil Rathod, Environment Engineer Nagaraju, Ashtakala Ramesh and others were present.
