Congress leaders arrested ahead of Godavari Jala Deeksha
Several Congress leaders were house arrested all over the state while they were trying to visit pending irrigation projects on the Godavari as part of Jala Deeksha programme.

MLAs D Sridhar Babu, T Jagga Reddy, Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC secretaries Ch Vamsi Chand Reddy, A Sampath Kumar, former minister Shabbir Ali, MLC JeevanReddy, Ponnam Prabhakar and others were among arrested leaders. The police tightened the security at their houses and did not allow them to come out of their residences.
Meanwhile, the Congress leaders who staged a protest at Gouravelli-Gandipalli project in Akkanapet of Husnabad were arrested by the police. They demanded all the pending Godavari projects to be completed immediately. AICC secretary Sampath Kumar and other leaders were taken into custody.
MLA Podem Veeraiah was arrested in Bhadrachalam while he was going to Seetharama project and MLA Seethakka was also house arrested in Mulugu when she was trying to visit Devadula project. She released a video criticising the dictatorial rule in Telangana.
