Hyderabad: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Balapur police station attempted suicide by self immolation in front of police station on Friday afternoon.

He was shifted to Apollo Hospital at DRDO and being treated. The victim received 35 per cent burn injuries.

According to police, M Dasharath, police constable of Balapur police station on November 16 complained with the Inspector of police, Balapur in which he stated that on receiving a call about loud sound, complainant along with other two personnel proceeded to the spot with police siren.

On hearing the siren, a person came out and threatened that he is son of 'Narasimha', when the complainant question who is Narasimha.

He went inside and called a person who was identified as ASI Narasimha of Balapur police station.

Later, Narasimha abused the complainant and other staff in filthy language and degraded the police department.

Complainant also requested serious action should be taken against Narasimha. However, the issue went to the Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat, due to which latter attached Narasimha to the Manchala police station.

Narasimha depressed over the transfer order on Friday doused himself with petrol and set himself on fire in front police station and consequently he received 35 per cent burn injuries.

Immediately he was rushed to Apollo Hospital at DRDO where he is undergoing treatment.
