Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Monday said stringent action would be taken against the culprits who attacked the forest officials in Kagaznagar, so that such incidents do not repeat in the State.

Hyderabad: Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Monday said stringent action would be taken against the culprits who attacked the forest officials in Kagaznagar, so that such incidents do not repeat in the State.

He said the government issued orders to provide security to the forest officials whenever they take up the plantation programme and seizure of encroached forest lands.

Home Minister said its better for the forest officials and staff to inform the law and order police in advance so that they can take the help of local police.

The Minister inaugurated three buildings of Rachakonda police including Medipally Police Station, Central Crime Station (CCS), Special Operation Team (SOT) and IT Cell at Bhagat Singh Nagar and Motor Transport Building at CAR headquarters at Amberpet.

The buildings were built for a cost of Rs 7 crore. The Minister along with DGP M Mahendar Reddy, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat and other officials addressed the media and said friendly policing with the usage of advanced

technology has drastically brought down the crime rate in the State. That is why there was a steep decline in the number of criminals in 16 jails of the State, he added.

Home Minister Mahmood Ali reiterated that the Telangana government is committed to provide the best infrastructure facilities to the police so that they can render better services to the people on time speedily.

DGP M Mahendar Reddy said these buildings were established to reduce the felt needs gap and issues of Rachakonda and take necessary steps to zero out crimes from Rachakonda slowly and steadily.

These buildings would also help the Rachakonda police to conduct review meetings of their fleet pertaining to their functioning more often.

Labour Minister Ch Malla Reddy, Chairman Police Housing, Koleti Damodar Gupta, Malla Reddy, MD, Police Housing Corporation, MLCs, other police officials participated in the programme.
