Tandur: Lok Sabha elections ended on a peaceful note here on Thursday. Polling started at 7 am and voters turned out in large numbers in Peddemul,Yalal and Basheerbad mandals. With scorching summer, low voter turnout was seen between 12 pm and 3 pm.

Voters waited for an hour after a EVM in Indoor village of Peddemul mandal has failed to function. A heavy police force was beefed up, led by DSP Ramachandrudu, at all polling centers to avoid untoward incidents.

A Sub Inspector's high-handedness was seen at a polling center as BLO officials were complaining about disruption in the polling process. The SI also vent his spleen on a reporter who questioned him. Booth level officer Rajeshwari took the matter to the notice of Election Commission officials. The polling staff also staged a protest.
