Hyderabad: Though the TRS leaders are claiming that there would be no impact of the Dubbaka and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Elections in the State politics, the public representatives of the ruling party have been giving shock one after the other by deserting the party.
According to the party leaders, Telangana Rashtra Samithi was still strong and there was no chance for the Bharatiya Janata Party to become an alternative to their party. However, at the ground level, the party has been facing embarrassment with leaders, including public representatives, deserting the party one after the other.
After a municipal chairperson, several local body representatives in Nizamabad also resigned from the ruling party. Recently, the Adibatla municipality chairperson Arthika Praveen Goud resigned from her post to join Congress party. It is said that the rift between the chairperson and the local MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy was the reason for her exit from the party. However, she said that there was no respect to her post hence she had decided to resign.
Earlier, some of the elected representatives from Secunderabad Cantonment Board also left the party. Similarly, some of the leaders from Warangal have also resigned in the recent past. In a shocking incident on Saturday, several TRS public representatives from Nizamabad resigned from their respective posts, leaving several questions unanswered for MLA Bajireddy Goverdhan. The public representatives, who resigned included one MPP, one vice-MPP, nine MPTCs and 10 Sarpanches. They have gone to Delhi on Saturday and are likely to meet the Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar. According to the leaders, people of the State were looking towards BJP. They alleged that they were unable to give ration cards to the people and they were made to face difficulties by not giving funds and employment.
However, a few party leaders said that the local issues were likely to force them to take the decision to leave the party. "People of the State still have faith in TRS and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao knows what needs to be done," said a TRS leader.
