Vikarabad: The formation day of Telangana was celebrated on a grand note in the district, on Sunday. The tricoloured national flag was unfurled in various venues and the celebrations marked cultural shows and photo exhibitions etc.
The Zilla Parishad Chairperson of old Rangareddy district Sunitha Mahender Reddy hoisted national flag at the celebrations held at district police parade grounds, before paid tributes to the martyrs.
District Collector Masrat Khanam Ayesha, SP Narayana, Additional Judge Muralimohan, Joint Collector Arunakumari, MLA Dr M Anand, RDO Viswanadham, Municipal Chairman Satyanarayana and other officials participated in the event. Later, they visited the stalls arranged on the premises.
Joint Collector Aurnakumari unfurled the national flag on the occasion at district collector office. The Superintendent of Police M Narayana hoisted the flag at district police headquarters. Additional SP R Bhaskar, RI Kranthikumar, DPO staff and others were present.
