Furniture godown gutted in huge fire

Hayathnagar: A huge fire gutted a furniture godown located in the fifth ward of Abdullapurmet on Saturday night resulting in heavy loss of property.

The owner of the godown Krishna Dev said that the neighbours noticed the fire after the godown was closed for the day in the evening. They informed the Fire Services personnel, who were pressed into service, brought the fire under control. The godown and the office were totally gutted in the fire.

Among the property lost were leather sofa sets, beds, machinery, computers, CCTV cameras. Krishna Dev said that the fire was caused by a shortcircuit.
