Gadwal: Woman farmer locks up Panchayat office

Gadwal: A woman farmer from Birampur village of Undavalli mandal in Gadwal district locked down the village Panchayat office as the Panchayat authorities were ignoring her complaint of dumping yard menace near her agriculture field.

It is learnt that despite the woman farmer's objection not to set up the dumping yard besides her farm land, the gram panchayat officials ignored her grievance and went ahead.

After some days, the waste and other garbage dumped near the farm land which was over spilled into the woman farmer's land caused damage to her crops. Enraged over this, she lodged complaints seeking to remove the garbage from her land.

But as the officials did not heed to her request, and fed up with the attitude of the officials, the woman farmer took the step to lock down the Panchayat office and demanded that until the dump yard was removed from her farm land she would not let the Panchayat office open.
