Bhupalpally: The Adivasis need to utilise whatever opportunities they get to empower themselves, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan said. The Governor who visited Bodagudem village under Kataram mandal interacted with the tribals and elicited information about their life.

She told them to recognise the importance of best health and hygiene practices. She interacted with the children, pregnant women and lactating mothers and enquired about the food they get in the Anganwadi centre. She distributed toys and uniforms to the children, and blankets to elders.

After giving a patient listening to the tribals' issues, the Governor assured them to work towards ensuring houses and agriculture land for their living. "I am here as your sister, not as the Governor," she told the tribals.

She invited them to the Raj Bhavan. Later, Tamilisai offered prayers at the ancient Kaleshwara Mukteeshwara Swami temple at Kaleswaram, where she was accorded with traditional welcome by the temple priests and authorities.

Later, the Governor inaugurated a generic medical store of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) in Bhupalpally town. Accompanied by District Collector Vasam Venkateshwarlu and Irrigation chief engineer Venkateswarlu, the Governor visited Pump House at Kannepally, Medigadda and Annaram barrages, major components of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP). Later, she left for Ramagundam in Peddapally district.
