Bommalaramaram (Yadadri-Bhongir): Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy said the government would ensure that the students of Kasturibha Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya receive best education that will help them explore global employment opportunities.

The Minister along with Government Whip and Aler MLA Gongidi Sunitha laid foundation stone for the construction of classrooms for junior college building in the premises of KGBV located at Malyala village of Bommalaramaram mandal in the district on Sunday. The buildings would be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 2.05 crore.

Speaking on the occasion, she said government has started KGBV schools in the State to avoid discontinuity of studies of students who hails from rural areas.

She asserted that the State government has established as many as 475 KGBVs across the State and of them 88 school were upgraded.

The government has introduced English medium in 110 KGBV schools, she said. As many as Rs 640 crore was spent on KGBVs for educational development of the girls, she added.

She advised local body representatives to visit government schools often to make teachers more responsible in delivering quality education to students. Government has been contemplating to start martial arts for girls for self-defence in crucial times through the department of education, she added.

She appealed to the girls to dial 100 for police assistance in times of distress. Government whip and Aler MLA Gongidi Sunitha urged the Minister to sanction funds for the construction of boundary wall to junior college in Yadagirigutta and schools in the district.

She also requested the Minister to establish KGBV schools in all mandals in Aler constituency, she further urged Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy to bring Bhongir Degree College under Osmania University.

ZP chairman A Sandeep Reddy, Collector Anitha Ramachandran, DEO Chaitanya Jaini, DRO Venkateshwarlu, DCP Narayana Reddy local MPP Sudhir Reddy, in-charge MPDO Sheshadri, Sarpanch Srinivas, special officer Madhavi and others participated.
