Hospitals cock a snook at fire safety norms: GHMC
The Shine Hospital fire accident might have happened two days ago, but the GHMC had brought to the notice of the Health Department tht shortcomings in fire safety norms in hospitals nearly an year ago.
Hyderabad: The Shine Hospital fire accident might have happened two days ago, but the GHMC had brought to the notice of the Health Department tht shortcomings in fire safety norms in hospitals nearly an year ago.
The Directorate of Enforcement, Vigilance and Disaster Management of the GHMC highlighted that many of the hospital buildings are not having fire safety systems to meet any fire or disaster to prevent loss of life and property.
In a letter addressed to the Director, Public Health and Family Welfare, GHMC observed that certain DMHOs were issuing registration without Fire NOC and again they are giving extension.
"If any untoward incident occurs leading to loss of life, the concerned authorities will be blamed, the civic body warned.
