Kamareddy/Nizamabad: A survey was launched in Kamareddy district on Friday to gather information on foreign returnees in the wake of outbreak of COVID-19.

House-to-house survey is being conducted in all villages. Anganwadi teacher Asha and Gram Panchayath staff are collecting information on those who returned from foreign countries recently.

In view of eight Indonesian, who visited Karimnagar, tested positive for coronavirus, Kamareddy and Nizamabad district administration sounded a high alert.

Bansuada RDO Rajeshwar suggested that a check post be established at Maddnur as it borders Maharashtra. The District Collector directed the authorities to set up a check post at the village.

Even in Nizamabad district, the administration has appealed to the people to avoid mass gathering. The village panchayats have urged the people to follow guidelines.

Jukkal sub-sarpanch Bhanu Prasad Goud and the Anganwadi teacher Asha participated in the survey. The sub-sarpanch appealed to the people to visit nearest government hospital for check-up if anyone shows coronavirus symptoms.
