Hyderabad: Telangana High Court on Thursday stayed construction of the skyway between VST and Indira Park in Hyderabad.Justice Challa Kodandaram on Thursday heard a writ petition filed by Dr A T Raghavendra against the GHMC's plan of constructing a skyway between VST Junction and Indira Park.
In his petition, the petitioner submitted to the court that the construction mandated felling of more than 200 perennial trees, demolition of synthetic tennis playground, transfer/ convert of park for purposes of erecting a steel sky scrapper road by violating the provisions of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporations Act.
The petitioner sought interim directions from the court against the alleged construction. Government Pleader for Municipal Administration appeared. After hearing the parties to the petition at length the court granted the interim order as prayed for. Notices were served on the respondents for filing counter affidavits.
